Dear Dr. Lewis, I would like to thank you for the very successful operations you preformed on my wife, Louise and myself. It is hard for a layman to understand how a skilled surgeon with the aid of a high tech laser can correct closed – end glaucomas in the time it took me to go back and forth to the rest room. As of this date Louise is doing very well with her eyes. With respect to my cataract operation, I appreciated the wonderful group of pre-op personnel – three nurses and two practical nurses who checked and prepared me for the operation. Unlike a half-dozen so-called local “specialists” before him, Dr. Lewis diagnosed and then cured my corneal condition. He listened to my symptoms, examined my eye, ran a few tests, and knew exactly what had been causing my eye pain. He lasered my corneal surface and I am now back to normal. He is an experienced and knowledgeable surgeon. I learned recently that he had operated successfully on two of my neighbors. One for cataracts and the other for LASIK. I was referred to Dr. Lewis by EYE OPTIONS . I had gone to them for a routine check-up & to get new glasses . During their testing procedure they discovered cataracts in both of my eyes . They suggested I see Dr. Lewis as soon as possible to get further testing done & to confirm the cataracts & their severity . I was very concerned because I had never had a problem with my eyesight . Upon meeting with Dr. Lewis for the first time , any & all concerns & anxiety WERE GONE. What a great guy … & … an even better eye doctor . He recommended cataract surgery .. but .. said I could hold off for awhile ; that I probably wouldn’t see any significant change in my vision for about six(6) months . About twenty years ago, Dr. Lewis performed cataract surgery for my husband. Mt experience with cataract surgery by Dr. Lewis was excellent. The practice is well managed and efficient. Waiting times in the office for examinations are short. Everything was made quite clear to me by Dr. Lewis regarding what to expect. Mu case was difficult due to previous Radial Keratotomy surgery and astigmatism in both eyes. After having been referred to Dr. Lewis, I researched his credentials and background for my cataract surgery, a surgery which created pronounced fear and distress for me. My initial consultation with him was pivotal. I was deeply impressed with his warm, gentle voiced, easy demeanor which assuaged my anxiety and panic. His courtesy and patience in talking with me was invaluable, allowing time to make inquiries and feel comfortable and confident with his responses. He listened without interruption, heard my concerns and responded respectfully to all of my questions. This character trait was paramount in my trusting him. He was diligently detailed in educating me to the cataract procedure: benefits and risks, pre-op and post-op, medical care and drops, transportation fo the surgical facility, and more. Each step, outlined by Dr. Lewis and his team, was specific and supportive. My surgery was seamless. I am yet grateful for the competence of the pre-op team and the anesthesiologist. Within a day, I was able to drive to my follow-up examination, thrilled with the enhanced colors and clarity of vision which had escaped me over the years. This was a very happy experience. Subsequent eye care surgical procedures performed by Dr. Lewis have addressed glaucoma. I have had laser surgery on each eye to reduce the increased pressure in my eyes, which left unchecked can damage the optic disk, causing gradual loss of vision. For years, I have been fighting getting cataract surgery. My brother-in-law just had his surgery done by Dr. Lewis and raved about how good he is. Upon his recommendation, I too had my cataract surgery done. Everything that my brother-in-law said was true and then some. He is an exceptional doctor. If I was to rate him, it would be above five stars. When it came time for the surgery, a limousine picked me up. Everyone and everything was professional. Not only was his staff professional but they showed a caring attitude about each patient. Unfortunately, my husband had cataract surgery in another state under a different ophthalmologist. It has been almost a year after his cataract surgery and his eves still hurt and he suffered from cloudy vision. When I explained the situation to Dr. Lewis and the fact that he could not get an appointment with him until March ( Dr. Lewis stays booked up), he said for me to bring him in when I had my appointment and he would look at his eyes. I did as he said and Dr. Lewis and two of his associates looked at my husband’s eyes. They determined that there needed to be a change in his medications. My husband did as instructed and his eyes immediately cleared up. The day that Dr. Lewis and his associates examined my husband’s eyes, the computer was not working so there was no way for his staff to take down my husband’s insurance information to file for the many tests that he ran. Dr. Lewis, This is a very belated thank you card to you for what has really been the best gift I have given myself in recent memory – Visian ICL. After struggling fo rso many years recently with my contact lenses, I had forgotten what it felt like to go through a whole day without noticing how my eyes felt. I am not sure whether it was the surgery or our move to upstae NY, but my blepharitis symptoms have virtually disappeared (knock on wood). I am no longer tied to eye drops and hot packs. Review for Dr. James Lewis Rating: Five Stars Review: Dr. Lewis and his team were thorough in evaluatiing and mapping my eyes for the PanOptix lenses to replace my cataract clouded lenses. They checked the size, shape and prescription, and re-checked again to ensure that the new lenses would be the correct ones to be implanted. At surgery time, Dr. Lewis was very re-assuring by saying the words “we’re going to take good care of you”. The surgery time was quick, only about 10-15 minutes and everything Dr. Lewis said would happen, did happen. My new implanted lenses gave me clear sharp vision at far distances, mi-range distances, and close distances. After wearing glasses and contact lenses for 50 years. I did not need them anymore – because Dr. Lewis not only cleared up my cataracts but also gave me 20/20 vision with these newly implanted lenses. In January 2017 I had cataracts in both eyes removed. I want to thank Dr Lewis and Dr Devlin for the outstanding results and excellent care I received. Dr Devlin provided me with a detailed explanation of the procedure in addition to a thorough description of what I could expect to occur throughout my recovery. I didn’t even have to worry about transportation, as van service to and from the surgical facility was available for a nominal cost. Prior to surgery I wore Monovision contact lenses and wore glasses for night driving. Dr Lewis was able to implant Monovision lenses, which means I can continue to just wear glasses for night driving with no glare issues. The procedures were a breeze. I experienced no pain or discomfort whatsoever. I used my prescribed eye drops, followed all post-operative instructions and kept all of my appointments – all of which I believe were key to my excellent results. I will be recommending Dr Lewis and Dr Devlin to friends and family that may need cataract surgery. My vision is better now than it was twenty years ago all thanks to Dr Lewis and Dr Devlin.
